The pews and carpet have been removed, and the altar area has been stripped down in preparation.
The redwood has been removed from the walls and stored, and the cross area covered in protective plastic.

 

Here is the plan. The new altar rail will be curved and the altar area round in shape.
A new sacristy is being built at the top right, extending beyond the former walls of the sanctuary.
The picture below shows the view in the the former choir area (bottom right in above plan).
