Other Ways to Support St. Tim's
- What is SCRIP? SCRIP is a national program in which any organization may participate, where gift certificates are purchased in bulk from national and local merchants. Because the certificates are purchased in large quantities, the merchant offers them to the organization at a discounted price determined by the merchant. In turn, the organization sells these certificates to their constituents at the full face value. The organization retains the discount.
- SCRIP is a term that means "substitute money". When you purchase SCRIP, you're purchasing gift certificates and prepaid gift cards that are used just like cash. You can use SCRIP to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, gas, and other essentials.
- SCRIP is "No Selling Fund raising" The merchants donate all of the money (in the form of a discount) to the school. Companies participate in the program because they want to help the community and promote their business. By purchasing gift cards from SCRIP and using them for your regular purchases, you actually help the school as well as yourself. There is no need to buy any extras or spend money that would not normally be spent!
Earning 4 Learning
This program runs from Sept 15 – May 15. All Oakridge receipts can be logged in at the concierge desk at the mall or turned into the school office. St. Timothy's will earn a portion of $15,000. Last year we earned $240 to spend for the classrooms.
Participation in the eScrip program earns money for our school at no additional effort or cost to you. You simply register your Safeway card number at www.escrip.com. Safeway will donate a % of each of your purchases back to St. Timothy's. You can also register your credit or debit cards through the program. Each time you use it, a percentage is donated to the school on the participant's behalf. Last year St. Tim's earned $2,650 from E-SCRIP.
My Coke Rewards
This is a brand new program. You can register codes from Coke products at www.mycokerewards.com/schools to earn points used to purchase educational items for St. Tim's. Currently, all Coke, Sprite, Powerade, Vault, Fanta, Minute Maide, Dasani, and Fresca brands have codes. Last year St. Tim's was able to purchase items for our P.E. and recess programs.
Box Tops For Education
Clip Box Tops from many products and return to collection cans in each classroom. You can find a list of eligible products on www.boxtops4education.com. The box tops are used to earn cash for St. Tim's. Last year we earned $482.40, which is 4,824 box tops! I think we can top that this year easily!
Campbell Soup Labels
Clip UPCs & lids from participating Campbells products and return to the office. You can find a complete list of products at www.labelsforeducation.com. The UPCs & lids earn points to be used to purchase educational products for St. Tim's.
Cartridges For Kids
Save your old printer ink cartridges, cell phones, PDAs, handheld electronic games, laptops, etc. and turn them in to the office. These earn cash for St. Tim's. Last year St. Tim's earned $195 from recycled cartridges.
TerraCycle makes affordable, eco-friendly products from a wide range of different non-recyclable waste materials. TerraCycle has partnerships with major CPG companies such as Kraft Foods, Frito Lay (Pepsi), Stonyfield Farm, Mars Wrigley and many more. The partnerships create free collection programs that pay schools nationwide to collect used packaging such as drink pouches, energy bar wrappers, yogurt cups, cookie wrappers, chip bags and more! The collected materials are upcycled into affordable, high quality products ranging from tote bags and purses to shower curtains and kites. Right now we are collecting CapriSun juice pouches and Ziplock bags. To see a complete list of products that Terracycle collects visit: www.terracycle.net.
