I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.  Ephesians 1:19–20

This is an amazing verse that comes from the early part of Paul’s letter to the church in Ephesus. Now we know from the celebration of the resurrection that God has this power. While that is important and amazing, the part of this verse that is stunning is the part that says “for us who believe.”  Later in chapter 3 of this same letter there is a doxology that reminds us

“… Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”

Paul also reminds us in Philippians 4:13 that “I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”

As children and ambassadors of God, we are encouraged to remember that is is not our shortcomings that define us or what we can do. We are empowered by God and led by that Holy Spirit to live our lives out of God’s abundant love and grace.

When a man was asking Jesus to help his child in Mark 9:17-24 Jesus’ response was “ “What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.”

As we move into this next season of life and our church life together, there will undoubtedly be obstacles to overcome. But we are children of the living God whose power is at work within us. We move forward in faith trusting that we Go with the Spirit. When we occasionally struggle with whether or not we can meet the challenge before us, we remember that power that raised Jesus from the dead and we pray “Lord I believe, help my unbelief.”

Blessed Easter season to you all
