Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.”

Psalm 103:2-4

“God promises to make good out of the storms that bring devastation to your life.”

Romans 8:28

There is more universal sorrow, loss and hardship right now because of the current pandemic.  We are all reminded daily of this unsettling situation and often struggle to find comfort.  I find solace in the present situation and past life challenges because they always bring me closer to our loving God.

After surviving breast cancer four years ago, God blessed me with an awareness of my health and further deepened my faith and trust in Him.  In the years dealing with my Mother’s failing health and dementia, God blessed me with the strength to help care for her and it brought me closer to God.  Even through less challenging life situations, God is there to comfort and bring goodness.  As in the song, “See A Victory,” God takes what the enemy meant for evil, and turns it for good.

During this pandemic and other life challenges, there is always an opportunity to deepen one’s faith and become closer to God.  We pray, Gracious God, that during this time our relationship with You will grow stronger.  We also pray for those who are seeking You, to find your love and comfort.  For the World and for our Congregation, may we all be drawn closer to God.
